As of 1pm Saturday, our first wave of rainfall from this storm system is moving into NWI:
This won’t be the end of it by any means, but I do have some “better” news with the latest model runs. Here are the details:
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Rain will continue to overspread the Region this afternoon with a few dry periods within this first wave. I’m expecting a wave of potentially heavy rain to move in late this evening and continue overnight. This will be our primary rainmaker through this entire event. 1-2 inches of rain are possible later this evening and tonight before we see a brief break in the action sometime early Sunday. A final wave of rain and potential storms will move through with the cold front before we turn showery into Monday.
THE GOOD NEWS:
Rainfall amounts look SLIGHTLY less than they did 24 hours ago–totaling 1.5 to 4 inches in NWI through late Sunday. This is much better than the 5+ models we’re forecasting–but our forecast remains unchanged for now with several inches of rain still expected through this event. Stay tuned!
